The “Star of the High School Musical” – who didn’t attend Vogue’s famous fashion party – shared some early and middle-aged outfits from her past on Twitter Monday night as the prestigious event unfolded.
“If I ever get invited to #MetGala, I would replicate one of my iconic looks from the past …” she wrote, presumably from the comfort of her home.
Along with the post, Tisdale uploaded some hilarious photos of herself on the red carpet that serve as a time capsule for Y2K fashion.
The photos are mostly from her early Disney days from around 2004 to 2006 and feature items and trends from that really crazy fashion era, including Ugg boots, pant petticoatsthin scarves and accessories pink chewing gum.
During this time, Tisdale also seemed to be a huge fan of low-rise jeans, chunky belts, and sequined shrugs, which makes perfect sense because they were all the rage at the time.
And although Tisdale wasn’t at this year’s Met Gala, her “High School Musical” co-star e friend Vanessa Hudgens What – which honestly doesn’t seem fair. In “High School Musical”, Gabrielle (Hudgens) always seemed to get what Sharpay (Tisdale) wanted, despite Sharpay passionate efforts.
So, let’s say: invite Tisdale to the next Met Gala, Anna Wintour! Because we might get a title outfit that looks a bit like this:
