Comedian and gun control advocate Michael Ian Black has found a clever way to dishonor those killed on Memorial Day – twitchy.com
Today is the Day of Remembrance. One day we remember the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom.
And for comedian Michael Ian Black, it’s a day we use those brave men and women to shame those of us who choose to enjoy a particular kind of freedom: the freedom to legally own guns. According to Black, legitimate gun owners are not only responsible for school shootings, but actually like them:
Spending Memorial Day thinking about the soldiers who gave their lives to defend our freedom to shoot schoolchildren.

In other words, Michael Ian Black is spending Memorial Day celebrating his freedom to be a twisted hole.
It’s always the guys you know would have empathized with the messed up underdog who killed those guys who get super edgy and smooth when these ass holes snap. https://t.co/2zbaPHJ4Y8

Black is a professional comedian – presumably – so it’s only natural that he tries to use humor to offer comments on a serious matter. But we hear that Black really hit here.
Many people have many different views on what constitutes comedy (look at the controversy over Ricky Gervais’ new special, for example). And that’s just the nature of comedy. But the last time we checked, comedy still has to be fun on some level. And Black looks just … well, ugly. Vicious. There is no humor behind his tweet; just pure hate.
But stop talking about you Michael.
Your comment is false – freedom extends to the purchase of weapons – you are not free to kill anyone with one, as I’m sure you know. But on this MD, thank you for the reminder that I may vehemently disagree with someone’s beliefs, but I will always defend their right to express them.
