Consumer trends will measure the state of inflation

CNBC’s Jim Cramer said Friday that any sign of consumer negativity next week would be a welcome sign for the Federal Reserve in its fight against inflation.

“I know hoping for negativity is a total obstacle, but that’s what we need right now” to bring down inflation, he said. “I bet we will find that confidence is falling rapidly.”

the”crazy moneyThe host said he is keeping an eye on the Consumer Price Index and the University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index due out next week to confirm his prediction that consumer confidence is waning.

“This is exactly what the Fed doctor ordered,” he said.

Cramer said that if the food manufacturer’s shares manage to recover in the wake of its quarterly earnings report, it will bode well for the rest of the industry.

  • Project revenue: $ 790 million

Investors need to take note of any mention of a more thrifty consumer from the restaurant chain, Cramer said.

Wednesday: Thor Industries, Campbell Soup, Five Below

Thor Industries

Cramer said the RV maker’s earnings call is a must for investors who want to read the state of inflation.

“I like the management of Campbell Soup. I bet the stock can go up dramatically,” he said.
