Covered in spring snow The Sierra Nevada mountains of California

A spring snowstorm blanketed California’s Sierra Nevada mountain range in white, creating dangerous travel conditions on Monday, May 9, the National Weather Service (NWS) said. The UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Lab said 4.1 inches (10.5 cm) of snow fell over a 24-hour period Sunday through Monday. Video from outside the lab shows heavy snow falling on Sunday. According to the lab, end-of-season snow was expected next week. “We expect more snow in the next few days … and we couldn’t be happier,” they said. Credit: UC Berkeley CSSL via Storyful
