Customs collections exceed target | The Manila Times

THE Bureau of Customs (BoC) surpassed its collection target last month, taking in P78.616 billion or P1.084 billion more than programmed based on preliminary data.

Year-to-date, BoC revenues reached P739 billion, also surpassing the collection target by P17.287 billion.

“Our relentless drive against smuggling and the implementation of trade efficiency measures significantly contributed to the increase in revenue collection,” Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio said in a statement.

“We are doubling our efforts to provide financial resources to support the government’s programs and projects,” he added.

The bureau cited enhancements to trade facilitation, in particular, an agreement with Philippine Postal Corp. on October 18 to expedite clearances, improve security controls, and simplify customs procedures.
