SERVICE and repair business accreditations can now be conducted online, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said.
The service — available via the Integrated Registration Information System (iRegIS) — will provide “more speedy, transparent, effective and efficient end-to-end processing,” the department said in a statement.
Online accreditation can be availed of by business enterprises in the National Capital Region that are engaged directly or indirectly in the repair, service or maintenance of motor vehicles, heavy equipment, engines and engineering works.
Those engaged in servicing electronic, electrical, air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment; office machines and data processing equipment; medical and dental equipment; and other consumer mechanical and industrial equipment, alliances or devices, along with their technical personnel, can also avail of online accreditation.
The shift is in line with the 2018 Ease of Doing Business and Government Service Act, which aims to reduce processing times for government permits and licenses.
The DTI’s Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau launched the iRegIS in 2020 to facilitate the automation of frontline services such as securing business certificates, accreditation and permits.
“The DTI will continue to strive for process digitalization and system automation in fulfillment of the country’s goal of a globally competitive and innovative industry and services sector,” Trade Undersecretary Ireneo Vizmonte said in the statement.
