The bizarre statement was made during Vanity FairThe “Lie Detector Test” video series, in which the magazine links celebrities to machinery to ask them deliciously silly questions about their lives and careers with very serious voices.
During the video, Olsen is presented with a photo of Krasinski. In the film, he plays Reed Richards, a scientist and inventor best known as Mister Fantastic, considered the smartest man on Earth. When Olsen’s questioner asks her if she thinks the man in her photo is really “the smartest man in the world”, Olsen replies with a madman:
“No,” Olsen said with a laugh. “I don’t know him, though, but I would never take it for granted that an actor would be the smartest man in the world.”
The skeptical Vanity Fair interviewer then asks, “You don’t know him at all?”
Olsen frowns and contemplates.
“I do not believe. No, I’ve never met him, ”she concludes after a couple of seconds.
When Olsen is reminded that the couple starred in a movie together, Olsen looks pleadingly at the lie detector test operator.
Then he calmly repeats: “I’ve never met him.”

However, he admits that he knows someone close to Krasinski: Emily Blunt.
“I met his wife,” says Olsen.
The Emmy-nominated actress has starred in several Marvel Cinematic Universe properties as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, including her Disney + series, “WandaVision”. And we’re not sure if Olsen is extremely good at her craft, or if Marvel’s notoriously secretive filming process is just plain confusing, but she seems sincere in her claim that she doesn’t know Krasinski.
Earlier in the Vanity Fair video, Olsen was arrested for a lie in which she says she thinks musician Danielle Haim did a good job of acting in the 2021 film “Licorice Pizza”.
And although Olsen also claimed that Haim is a “very talented person and has a very interesting vibe”, when asked if she thought she was a better actress than Haim, Olsen reacted with a laugh and said:
