George Carlin nailed conservative hypocrisy over abortion more than 25 years ago

An old clip of Giorgio Carlino is gaining new life after this week’s reports from Supreme Court on abortion.

In his 1996 HBO special, “Back In Town,” Carlin intrudes into the pro-life movement:

“Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception to 9 months. After that, they don’t want to know about you. They don’t want to hear from you. Nothing! No newborn assistance, no nursery, no benefits, no school canteens, no meal vouchers, no welfare, no nothing. If you’re pre-born, you’re fine, if you’re preschool, you’re screwed. “

Carlin also said Conservatives say they will do anything for the unborn. But once the baby is born? This gif says it all:

Carlin’s performance was broadcast on social media after a leaked draft opinion from the Supreme Court indicates that Roe v. Wade could soon be overthrown, paving the way for banning abortion in parts of the nation.

In the clip, Carlin states that the pro-life movement isn’t pro-life at all.

“I’m anti-woman, so to speak,” she said. “They believe a woman’s primary role is to act as a bitch for the state.”

The legendary comic, who died in 2008 at the age of 71, is also the subject of an upcoming two-part documentary, “George Carlin’s American Dream,” which will debut on HBO Max later this month:
