Invact Metaversity Angel Investor Gergely Orosz Says CEO Manish Maheshwari Holds Company Hostage

New Delhi: Gergely Orosz, an angel investor in a troubled edtech startup Overgrown metaversityhas publicly scolded its co-founder and CEO Manish Maheshwaria few days after the former head of Twitter India said on the microblogging site that the platform is at a crossroads and could close.

ET reported on the email sent by Maheshwari cofounder Tanay Pratap on May 23 describing in detail the rift between the two.

Responding to Maheshwari’s tweet, Orosz said, “I am an investor in @invactHQ. Contrary to what this thread says, the company is not going bankrupt. However, its CEO is.”

“The company has a product, it has a CTO, and it’s running. It also has a CEO who is holding the company hostage. As an investor, I see @invactHQ being successful – but without you,” he added.

Maheshwari had “irreconcilable differences” with Pratap, according to the latter’s email to investors last week detailing the crisis.
