JD Vance wins the GOP Senate in Ohio

JD Vance (R) won the Republican nomination for the United States Senate in Ohio and will face Representative Tim Ryan (D) in the general election, according to the Cook Political Report.

New York Times: “Mr. Vance’s victory in the race for the seat of retired Senator Rob Portman was a testament to the power Donald Trump still holds with the Republican constituency in Ohio, a state that has voted for Trump twice.”

Washington Post: “Vance’s victory crowns an extraordinary political transformation from a staunch Trump critic to one of the former president’s most ardent champions.”
