Leapers and whistleblowers appear when corruption threatens democracy. Patriots are grateful to him. The Corrupters are angry. The leakers are willing to take the risk of exposing those who attack democracy. Deplorable Republicans like Senator Mitch McConnell attack leakers while supporting the bigoted, misogynistic and autocratic attempt of the United States government. Republicans use disinformation, voter suppression and the politics of white fear to win because the majority of Americans oppose the outdated and cruel ideology of the GOP.

  • “When is a leak ethical”? asked for an article in The Conversation in June 2017. There seems to be a positive aspect to information leakage. “Research has found that people are willing to report when they believe their organization has engaged in “corrupt and illegal conduct. ” They can also speak out to prevent greater threats to cherished values, such as democracy and the rule of law. Law professor Kathleen Clark use the phrase “disclosures of public interest”To refer to such leaks. In some cases of leaks and whistleblowing it has been found that it protects the First Amendment. However, disclosure of large amounts of information, even if the goal is to reveal government corruption or atrocities, can do more harm than good. The potential for compromising national security increases when large amounts of information are released simultaneously (The Conversation, 2017).

Republicans have become masters of deviation for three reasons; 1) they cheat constantly, 2) they lie constantly and 3) their policies are racist, pro-rich and anti-democracy.

The Republican Party is the party of the crooks who learned to cheat from the autocratic, deceptive and sociopathic first American president. For decades, Donald Trump has managed his life and his career by cheating. It is documented that for decades he has defrauded contractors, lawyers and business associates for millions of dollars. He cheated the military by making up a lie about having bone spurs. He scammed the government for millions of dollars by lying about his tax returns. He cheated on all three of his wives. However, despite his pathological betrayal, he became rich, famous, the president of the United States, and was never listed for crimes he committed in plain sight. The power-hungry GOP has embraced cheating because, so far, it has worked for Trump. Or does it have it? He lost the presidency after a term; he lost the House, the Senate, Trump University and the Donald J. Trump Charity Foundation. He has so far escaped the charge; however, that scam didn’t get him the things he craves most: still be the president of the United States, win the Nobel Peace Prize, win the popular vote, and be physically attractive.

Trump has also tried and is still trying to cheat to get back into office by lying that the 2020 election was stolen by rampant fraud. He tried to cheat to return to his post by filing over 65 bogus court cases for election fraud. He partnered with Republican surrogates who were attempting to steal and tamper with voting machines to trick Biden into winning the presidency. He supported the idea of replacing voters who voted for Biden with bogus voters who would vote for him. If Republicans remain loyal to a cheater, it means they support the cheat. Being in power now defines the entirety of what the Republican party stands for. Senator Mitch McConnell admitted this by stating that “there will be no discussions on politics until after the middle of the term.

Mitch McConnell’s arrogant admission that Republicans will not reveal the policies they will pursue if they win a majority in Congress should scare Republicans and Democrats alike. McConnell challenges transparency because he is a corrupt and power-hungry politician. He doesn’t believe the Republican electorate has a right to know what their standard leaders stand for, or worse yet, know if they knew they wouldn’t vote Republican. His strategy has been to keep Republican politicians quiet about the cruel and insane ideologies of the MAGA movement, to support Trump’s lie that the 2020 election was stolen, and to avoid discussing policies that address issues such as health care. , racial inequality, abortion and poverty. Republican voters better start insisting that their representatives stop shunning their responsibility to admit what they stand for and stop relying solely on the complete demonization of what their opponents stand for. McConnell is angry about the leak of Judge Alito’s draft on Roe v Wade due to the potential harm to his party. He didn’t seem so upset when leaks occurred during Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign.

As long as Republican Party corruption continues to spread and threaten our democracy, we can only hope that leakers and whistleblowers will continue to try to protect our democracy from corrupt Republicans and their silent facilitators.
