Nikita Mazepin has $153m villa seized after Haas F1 axing over Russia-Ukraine invasion
Former Haas drivers Nikita Mazepin and his billionaire Russian oligarch father have copped yet another massive hit to the hip pocket.
Italian authorities said they have frozen a $153.8 million Sardinia villa linked to Russian motor racing driver Nikita Mazepin and his oligarch father Dmitry.
The financial police imposed a freezing order on the Rocky Ram villa in Porto Cervo, on the spectacular Costa Smeralda coast on the northeast of the Italian island, a government official said.

A spokesman for the Italian Financial Police told MailOnline: “Following verifications on subjects that are part of the current European Union sanctions list, an impounding order was served on Dmitry Mazepin his and his son Nikita Mazepin, a driver with the Formula 1 team Haas until March 5, on a residential complex worth 105 million Euro and traceable to both through an overseas company.”
The villa has 25 rooms, luxurious gardens and a large swimming pool and overlooks the Mediterranean.
Nikita Mazepin, 23, was sacked by the Haas Formula One team last month after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Days later, he was added to a list of Russians sanctioned by the European Union, alongside his father, Dmitry Mazepin, the owner and chief executive of chemical giant Uralchem.
Dmitry has been described as “a member of the closest circle of Putin”.
Italy has blocked hundreds of millions of euros of property, notably villas and luxury yachts, linked to Russian oligarchs sanctioned following Moscow’s invasion of its neighbour.
It comes after Nikita slammed the sanctions on wealthy businessmen with ties to Putin.
Speaking to the BBC, Mazepin complained: “I don’t agree with being in the sanctions.
“I’ve said before I agree to fight it.
“Perhaps now is not the right time.
“If you look at the whole situation that is happening against athletes in the general case, it’s cancel culture against my country.”
Mazepin ha been a controversial figure since coming into F1.
It was no secret that he was signed at least partially due to his father being a billionaire and the team signing him while looking for “drivers with financial backing”but he was quickly embroiled in a scandal when he groped the breasts of a young woman.
