Passengers killed, coast guard rescues survivors after boast capsized near Puerto Rico

The U.S. Coast Guard said it recovered the bodies of 11 people and rescued 38 survivors after a boat capsized off the island of Desecheo in Puerto Rico on May 12. In a press release, the coast guard said the ship capsized in the Mona Passage, about 10 nautical miles north of the island of Desecheo, Puerto Rico. Of the 38 survivors, 36 are from Haiti and two from the Dominican Republic. Eight people remain hospitalized.
