Rugby is aiming for the “gold nugget” by choosing the United States to host the World Cup

International rugby chief Bill Beaumont said the sport would take a hit at the “gold nugget” after the World Cup was first awarded to the United States on Thursday.

The United States will host both the men’s 2031 and women’s 2033 tournaments, while Australia will hold the men’s World Cup in 2027 and the women’s tournament two years later. England have been named host of the 2025 women’s tournament.
