Samuel Bankman-Fried, CEO of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, reveals stake in Robinhood trading app

Samuel Bankman-Fried, CEO and founder of the cryptocurrency exchange FTXrevealed a 7.6% stake. Robin Hood Markets Inc on Thursday, taking advantage of the trading app’s stock weakness to build a position.

Bankman-Fried said in a regulatory filing that it has no intention of taking over Robinhood. The company’s dual-class shares currently give Robinhood’s founders control of 64% of the outstanding voting shares.

A person familiar with the matter said Bankman-Fried had not informed Robinhood of any plans to merge it with its FTX platform.

Bankman-Fried said in the filing that it is possible that his position could change and that he could end up pushing for changes. She revealed that she began building her stake in Robinhood in mid-March.
