The family comes first in the Fast & Furious Fast X sequel

THE Fast & Furious he has always prided himself on his connective tissue of being a “family” both on and off screen, and no one talks about it anymore than Vin Diesel, both on and off screen.

In a new post on Instagram, Diesel reiterated how much he prioritizes his own Almost family revealing that the original script for the next Almost X did not include Jordana Brewster’s Mia Toretto.

First seen in the 2001 franchise launch the fast and the furious, Mia is the sister of the patriarch of the Diesel franchise, Dom Toretto, and the wife of his friend Brian O’Conner, played by the late Paul Walker.

“I was so disappointed that I couldn’t see how I could continue,” writes Diesel, crediting Brewster’s character for fostering the “brotherhood” between Dom and Brian.

It turns out that the casting vote was cast by the actor’s daughter, Hania.

Fortunately, Lin and the studio quickly realized that the Almost father (and daughter) knows best, and has put Brewster back in the driver’s seat for Almost Xwhich has just started shooting and is expected to hit theaters on April 7 next year.
