The super-cheap auto worker in the viral wheelchair video retired during the crash review
A Supercheap Auto worker who was praised online after a video of a dispute went viral online was reportedly discharged.
A new detail has surfaced in a dramatic Supercheap Auto accident, where a worker and a woman got into a fight over a wheelchair.
In a viral way video Taken out of a Gold Coast store, a staff member could be seen trying to grab a blanket-covered pram.
He accused the woman with the pram of stealing from the shop and threatened to call the police, while the woman yelled “let my baby go”.
After they both struggled to take control of the wheelchair, a box was dropped to the floor from under the blanket and the woman said, “You can have the fucking rotor buddy.”
The video, which was posted on Facebook and TikTok about a week ago, immediately praised the employee and the way he handled the situation.
however, the Bulletin of the Gold Coast has now revealed that the employee was discharged while the incident is under review.
A company spokesperson said a review was standard practice “after an event of this nature”.
“At all times, we remain focused on the health, safety and well-being of customers and team members,” he said.
“As we are continuing to cooperate with the police on this matter, it would not be appropriate to make any further comments at this time.”
A spokeswoman for Queensland Police told news.com.au on Tuesday no complaint had been filed from the shop or staff.
news.com.au contacted the police for an update on the incident.
The video on TikTok alone has been viewed more than 5 million times.
It is unclear whether the woman actually had a baby in her pram.
At the end of the video, the staff member followed the woman out of sight into the parking lot, while another worker wearing a “Covid Safe Hygiene Marshal” vest picked up the left box.
