MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Some neighbors in the Cooper-Young area of Memphis are outraged after noticing stickers placed on road signs that they believe are alleged to be racial.

“I think the neighbors are generally against this kind of thing. Again, it’s like sticking a finger in someone’s eye, only causing aggravation for no reason. I don’t think there’s any violent intent or anything, but it’s just causing a stink, ”said Chip Armstrong, a Cooper-Young resident.

The stickers were placed on the signs by members of the White Lives Matter Tennessee organization. The organization said in a statement to FOX13 that its goal is to protect white children. They said their organization started in April 2021. They said they are promoting an anonymous, legal and peaceful initiative.

“I did not expect. He makes me feel unwelcome, ”said Rod Johnson, a pilot.

FOX13 first reported the same stickers that were distributed in Germantown. The WLM organization released its statement in response to that story.

“Again, it’s like we know. So, there is no need to clarify that opposition, like opposition, to the issue of black lives is like everything they seem to do, “Cooper-Young resident Chelsea Sommer said.

Johnson said the stickers are alarming.

“The city looks bad. We should all be together, especially in these times when there is a lot of racist things going on. No, it shouldn’t be up to par, ”Johnson said.
